Setting up Cisco phone for home use on M5

TFTP Change/Cisco 7941, 7961 & 7970

To change the TFTP address on Cisco Model 7941, 7961 and 7970/71 phones, follow the instructions that correspond to your firmware version listed below.

FIRMWARE Version 9

  1. Press the Settings button on the telephone
  2. Press 2 on the keypad.
  3. Press 1 on the keypad.
  4. Press 16 on the keypad
  5. If option 16 is set to No, go to step 6. If it is set to Yes, go to step 7.
  6. Press *, *, # and then set to Yes. Do not press the Save softkey.
  7. Press 17 on the keypad.
  8. Press the Edit softkey.
    • If you do not see this softkey press *, *, #
  9. Enter the TFTP address as it corresponds to your cluster.
  10. Press the Validate softkey.
  11. Press the Save softkey.

FIRMWARE Version 8

  1. Press the Settings button on the telephone
  2. Press 2 on the keypad.
  3. Press 24 on the keypad.
  4. If option 24 is set to No, go to step 5. If it is set to Yes, go to step 6.
  5. Press *, *, # and then set to Yes. Do not press the Save softkey.
  6. Press 8 on the keypad.
  7. Press the Edit softkey.
    • If you do not see this softkey press *, *, #
  8. Enter the TFTP address as it corresponds to your cluster.
  9. Press the Validate softkey.
  10. Press the Save softkey.

Your phone will now reboot with the TFTP address you have entered.
